18-years in practice; Orthotics in Vancouver

Blog by Vancouver Orthotics, Hycroft Medical Building (113-3195 Granville St @ 16th Ave) | November 15th, 2018

Posture Feet Biomechanics.jpgSometimes I need to pinch myself. It was 2000, the year I graduated CMCC (the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College) in Toronto and got licenced to practice Chiropractic. Back then I was still defining what my profession meant to me and how I was going to practice. I remember feeling a high level of anxiety working with my first patients, given my text book smarts but my limited patient experience. People seemed to trust in me and respond well to treatment provided and over the years my condifence skyrocketed.

I believe they call it "Practice" because it's always evolving. And for me that has definitely been true. I was always told it's helpful to develop a niche; a focus in practice that can make you stand out from others. I found the connection between the spine, feet and posture fascinating. So I decided to create a 2nd business, named Vancouver Orthotics, and focus on taking care of people's feet. Over the coming years more and more feet came into my office with a broader range of conditions.

Shin splints, bunions, plantar fasciitis, generalized foot, ankle, knee, hip and even back pain. Today my chiropractic patients can be orthotic patients and vice versa. It's shocking how quickly time can pass but what stays the same in the truth; biomechanics affect neurology and posture starts from the feet up.
